To Theresa May and the British government

Petition

EU nationals in Britain, are our friends, our family, our neighbours and our colleagues. They work in the NHS, in our schools and in our offices and factories. The British government must stop the dangerous and inflammatory rhetoric that cause huge worry and anxiety.

Why is this important?

Brexit is taking a nasty turn. The government is choosing to define Brexit as purely about immigration. It believes it needs to crack down on the rights of foreign nationals, and EU nationals. This is dangerous.

We’ve witnessed a huge spike in hate crime since the referendum. We know that EU nationals working in Britain are very concerned about their futures. For Theresa May and the British government to use xenophobic language is both dangerous and deeply worrying.

We need to stand up for what we believe in and push back. The more people who take action, the harder it is for the government to enact it’s scary policies. Now is the time to act.
