  • Write from the heart and remember to always be polite, let’s not give them an excuse not to engage with the postcards.

Here are some tips for what to write (max 450 characters):

  • 200 scientists have called on key politicians to act without delay. They need to listen to science and not the mega trawler lobbying industry.
  • Every day that goes by is another day of more irreversible damage to our ocean. We’re running out of time. No more delays, ban bottom-trawling now!
  • You can be a champion and protect our ocean, which is a hugely important legacy for anyone.
  • More than 195,000 people across Europe want the EU to ban bottom-trawling. Listen to people and not the mega trawler lobbying industry.

We’ve been working together to ban destructive fishing for over a year. Our European leaders said they would stop the dangerous fishing practice, known as bottom-trawling. But despite their promises, there’s still no plan.

We will break the silence by sending hundreds and possibly thousands of postcards from across Europe with our powerful, personal messages encouraging our politicians to publish the plan.

It doesn’t cost a lot to send these postcards, but it’s not free. In fact it’ll cost about €4 to design, print and send every postcard. Can you give whatever you can afford, so we can send as many postcards as possible?

Landing on their desks in 100s each day, until they release it, it’s the kind of action that will show our politicians we’re not going away and we won’t quit until they protect our ocean!
